This role is one of the most common entry-level cybersecurity careers and builds directly on everything I will learn in network security, ethical hacking, and system defense.

My role as A Security Analyst includes:

Monitor networks for cyber threats
Investigate security alerts
Analyze malware and suspicious activity
Implement security controls

2. Network Security Specialist

My A.S. Cybersecurity includes Cisco networking, Linux, and security fundamentals — perfect training for protecting large company networks.

My role as A Network Security Specialist includes:

Secure routers, switches, firewalls
Configure VPNs
Prevent unauthorized access
Review network vulnerabilities

SOC (Security Operations Center) Technician

SOC roles are very common entry points into cybersecurity and match well with hands-on skills from HCC's program, like intrusion detection and network monitoring.

My role as A SOC includes:

Watch live security dashboards
Respond to threats in real time
Escalate incidents to senior analysts
Document security events
