What is it?

AI-driven cybersecurity uses machine learning and advanced algorithms to automatically detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats. Instead of waiting for a human to notice an attack, AI systems learn patterns of normal behavior and instantly identify unusual or dangerous activity.

How is it used?

Organizations use AI tools to scan networks, emails, and systems 24/7. These tools can detect malware, block phishing attempts, flag suspicious logins, and analyze millions of events per second—much faster than any human team. Platforms like CrowdStrike, Darktrace, and Microsoft Sentinel rely heavily on AI to stop attacks in real time.

How will I use it 

In my cybersecurity career, I will use AI-powered tools to monitor threats, investigate alerts, and protect data. AI will help me respond faster to security incidents, identify patterns attackers leave behind, and strengthen the defenses of whatever company I work for.

How is it connected to my career

My A.S. in Cybersecurity teaches me essential skills like networking, operating systems, security principles, and threat analysis. These foundations prepare me to use AI tools effectively, understand how they make decisions, and respond to the alerts they generate. Knowing cybersecurity fundamentals makes AI-based defenses even more powerful.

Why it interests me

AI in cybersecurity interests me because it represents the future of digital protection. Attackers are becoming faster and more sophisticated, and AI provides a smarter, more proactive way to stay ahead of them. I like the idea of working with cutting-edge technology that helps protect people and organizations from real threats.
